1st International Congress: Incubator university libraries to activate distance education in Algeria. Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Director of the National Polytechnic School, the Director of the Library, and the President of the Congress; The library of the National Polytechnic School of Algiers organized on May 16, 2023, the first international congress entitled: Incubator university libraries to activate distance education in Algeria. In person and remotely. The session opened with a welcome word from Professor Abdelouahab Mekhaldi Director of the National Polytechnic School, followed by a word from Madame Hafida Doura, director of the Library, then that of Professor Abdelhadi Mohamed, president of the congress. Several conferences and interventions were given by teachers and specialists in library science. The congress made it possible to exchange knowledge and experiences between participants, and to strengthen cooperation between university libraries in terms of distance education. The congress also made it possible to confirm the role of university libraries as incubators using new methods and technologies for quality and sustainable teaching. The congress concluded with a series of recommendations. The recommendations committee proposed organizing a second congress under the title: “Strategy for developing institutional repositories in higher education systems: realities and perspectives”
